All who are inspiring to live a more natural life should look into building a home holistic first aid kit. Don’t get overwhelmed and think that you need to run out and buy each and every one of these RIGHT NOW!

A comprehensive and useful holistic first aid kit can take time to build and most of us will always be adding to our kits, the basic kits should contain the following:

Homeopathic remedies

Apis 30c Apis 30c is a homeopathic remedy that helps to heal in rashes, swelling, and hives. Apis is available in liquid or pill form from most health food stores.

Arnica 30c Arnica 30c is a homeopathic remedy from Arnica montana. It can be helpful in the treatment of injury, bruising, and swelling if used immediately after an injury occurs. Arnica comes in the form of cream or pill. Also can be useful for emotional shock and stroke (however, always call emergency services prior to treating) Arnica tincture is used for topical application to bruises, sprains, and blows. Don’t use on broken skin.


Calendula Tincture Calendula tincture is an antiseptic made from Calendual officinallis use topically to clean cuts and wounds. Use as a wound dressing if there is no infection present, don’t put on infected wounds because it will cause the skin the heal over it and seal in the infection. You can use a combination of calendula and St John’s wort Hypericum perforatum tincture if you suspect there is infection.


Calendula herb antiviral, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, calm muscle spasms, heals ulcers wounds and hemorrhoids, can help gum inflammations, cavities, and gingivitis may fight carcinogenic activity


Castro oil ricinus communis plant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial


Charcoal tablets gas and bloating, emergency toxin removal, reduces cholesterol


Chamomile chamomillarecutita & chamaemelumnobile antioxidant, antianxiety, improves digestion, analgesic, anticancer, congestion, skin health, heart health, oral health,

Clove Eugenia caryophyllata Essential Oil Toothaches: apply to a cotton ball and hold on the tooth. A few drops in warm water will relieve pain, vomiting ad nausea (don’t use for morning sickness)

Elderberry Sambucus colds, flu, antiviral, sinus infection, lowers blood sugar, diuretic, skin health, cancer prevention, allergies, heart health and relieves allergies.


Epsom salt relieves sore muscles and detoxification, reduces stress, good for bug bites and sunburns

Hypericum 30c A homeopathic remedy made from St John’s wort Hypericum perforatum and help with nerve pain, cuts, and torn nails. It comes in pills or liquid.

Garlic allicin sativum antifungal, hypolipidemic, antioxidant, anticancer, antibacterial, heart health, fights infection

Gelsemium 30c

Flu-like symptoms

Hypericum Tincture.A tincture made from St. John’s wort Hypericum perforatum flowers and is helpful with infected wounds. Great to use for a mouthwash after and extraction, dilute five drops in ½ cup of room temperature water.


Ginger Zingiber officinale used to treat nausea, upset stomach, menstrual disorders, inflammation, and respiratory conditions.


Hydrogen Peroxide H202 antimicrobial, antiseptic, disinfectant, cleans surfaces in homes, on teeth, and in the laundry, scientists in Italy published in the British Journal of Pharmacology, H2O2 might serve as a type of therapy to diminish the burden of brain ischemia or stroke.

Ledum 30c

A homeopathic remedy in pill or liquid form, used for insect stings, puncture wounds, and deep bruising. Also helpful with pain associated with fractures and joints.

Lavender Lavandula angustifolia Essential Oil

Lavender is always in all holistic first aid kits and is the go-to for many of us. The main use of lavender is for burns and insect stings since it is a mild anesthetic. It is also commonly used for headaches, three drops in warm water have shown to help most headaches. Another “mom tip” is to use a couple of drops on the pillow to help relax and sleep faster.

Rescue Remedy


Mullein Verbascum thapsus: antioxidant, antibacterial, inflammation, disinfectant (internal and external) bursitis, earaches, influenza, asthma, coughs, bruises, burns, joint pain, hemorrhoids, gout, herpes, and respiratory infections.


Nux Vomica 30c for heartburn nausea and upset stomach

Rescue Remedy is a flower essence tincture that is made by Bach and is available at health food stores and online. I personally have fallen in love with this remedy because it has helped my daughter’s anxiety immensely. This is a blend of five Bach flowers: impatiens, star of Bethlehem, cherry plum, rockrose and clematis. The main uses are for panic, shock, unconsciousness, traumatizing news, topically the cream can be used for cuts, bites, stings, burns, and sprains.

Symphytum 30c


Rux Tux 30c for joint pain

Homeopathic comfrey Symphytum officinale is used for black eyes, bruising, bone and ligament injuries, and fractures. It comes in a pill or liquid.


Thyme Thymus vulgaris Thyme oil is antiseptic, antibacterial, antispasmodic, hypertensive and has calming properties.


Urtica Urens 30c Homeopathic Common nettle Urtica dioica is used for sunburns, stings, burning pain, burns, rashes, allergies

Vitamin E Cream helps heal scaring, wounds and cuts.

Witch Hazel Tincture Witch hazel Hamamelis virginiana tincture reduces bruising and counteracts bleeding topically.


Skullcap Scutellaria lateriflora antiinflammatory, antibacterial, as a diuretic, an antispasmodic and to help with bile flow, and in Nepal, the plant is used as a folk remedy for the common cold, cuts and insect stings. Homeopaths have used it as a treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome and epilepsy. May help fight cancer cells, calms anxiety, helps with sleep, may help with cardiovascular disease, and lowers fevers ("This anti-anxiety nerve tonic may also beat back cancer cells," 2019)

Tea Tree or Manuka (New Zealand Tea Tree) Essential Oil Scrapes, bumps, and acne.


Valerian Valeriana officinalis produces a calming and restorative effect on the body’s central nervous system. Helps with sleep, anxiety, blood pressure, menstrual cramps, and stress
