First attempt at homemade elderberry syrup & gummies 👍

Everyone knows that elderberry has been proven to boost immune system and shorten duration of the flu but the elderberry syrup that you find at the healthfood store is loaded with sugar and most of the time has lower quality honey in it.

This is my first attempt at making this and I altered the recipes that I found online just a bit.

As for the gummies I used:

3/4 cup of dried elderberries

3 cups of filtered water

1/2 cup Manuka honey

1/2 T dried ginger

1 t of turmeric

1 t of cloves

1 t of black cumin seeds (you can use peppercorns too)

6 T gelatin

Boil all the ingredients except the honey. Once it is brought to a boil turn it down to a simmer for 45 min. Add gelatin, one T at a time and make sure it is dissolving. Then let cool to room temperature (about 45 min) add honey and stir until completely mixed. Put into a glass container with a lid and let sit for 3 hours.

I also made elderberry syrup (glad I did because the kids won't stay out of the gummies 🙄)

Using the same list of ingredients from above, minus the gelatin. Put into a glass bottle (I used an old wine bottle) put in refrigerator to cool. Enjoy within the next 2 weeks.

My natural remedie to an immune system rescue ❤

❤ I LOVE ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE ❤
